Jennie is IN! Jennie has been working as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since completing her doctoral degree in nursing practice with UAB in 2017. Jennie has been working in healthcare since age 19 as a nurse while continuing her education to learn more about how to help others gain health.
Dr. Register is IN! This three-time UAB graduate is a native of Birmingham and literally grew up on UAB’s campus with her first home being family/student housing at UAB. She is an avid supporter of Blazer athletics and resides in Hoover, Alabama.
Greg is IN! Greg is the Assistant Director of the UAB Office of Alumni Affairs overseeing communications and governmental relations. A TV veteran, Greg spent 15 years covering sports, news, and administration. He is a 2020 graduate of UAB with a degree in communications management. A transplant to Birmingham from the Midwest, Greg has been working with the NAS for six years. His daughter, Lexi, is a current student in the UAB School of Education.
Sherri is IN! This 1992 UAB graduate currently serves on the National Alumni Society’s Board of Directors.
Ivana is IN! She is a member of UAB’s most recent graduating class with a B.S. in Health Care Management and is hoping to start graduate school in Health Informatics in the Fall of 2021.
Marlon is IN, but while a member of the UAB football team, he and his teammates were famous for keeping opponents OUT of the end zone. Marlon was a member of the famed Steel Shield, the UAB defensive line group that led a defensive unit that was among the nation’s best during the 2001 season.
Patel is IN! Patel earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering in December 2019. Patel works to develop innovative product designs and product improvements for mechanical systems, including CAD and FEA, prototyping, testing and verification, and manufacturing scale-up.
Dawn is IN! Dawn is a 1994 UAB graduate who majored in history. She now serves as an in-house attorney for an aircraft manufacturer in Wichita, Kansas, after earning her law degree at Washburn Law School in May 2000. Dawn’s hobbies include baking and all things aviation – she holds a private pilot’s license with an instrument rating, and in her spare time, she and her husband, also a pilot, enjoy flying their 1942 Stearman biplane. Dawn would love to return to Birmingham someday and still visits family in Alabama as often as she can.
Brandon Gilliland is IN! He earned a B.A. in Political Science in 2006 and is now an AP U.S. government and history teacher and ACT consultant.
Brad Turner is IN! In 2004 he graduated with a B.A. from the School of Business double majoring in industrial distribution and marketing. Brad is now an industrial sales manager at Gulf Coast Air & Hydraulics, Inc.
Mark Belcher is IN! He earned his B.A. in Mathematics in 2013 from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Jane Akin is IN! In 2017 she earned her B.S. in Nursing and is now a registered nurse helping the people of Alabama.
