Amena Alkeswani wins CaRES Poster Competition and Travel Award at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Annual Research Retreat on October 30, 2017
“Through CaRES I had the privilege of being introduced to the complex field of cancer research. I gained an appreciation and an understanding of the importance of this step in conquering cancer, the second leading cause of death in the U.S. Also, this experience gave me new-found enthusiasm and optimism about the future of cancer therapy, transforming the way I intended to practice medicine in the future. Therefore, I would like to thank all the CaRES faculty and my mentor Dr. Farrukh Afaq for their efforts in making this experience so special.”
