Doug and Renita Rigney are IN! Since meeting at UAB, this couple has spent their long careers serving the students and community of Birmingham. Doug has four degrees from the UAB School of Engineering from his B.S.E. in 1980 to his Ph.D. in 1989. Renita earned her B.S.N. from the School of Nursing in 1980. Doug and Renita have each served a term as National Alumni Society president, making them a real first family of the green and gold. As alumni, they now receive automatic, free membership in the NAS, just like every student after graduation. Sign-ups and dues are out—From Here On IN.

Nancy Fouad Carey is IN. This former president of the National Alumni Society first cut her teeth as an engineering student at UAB. After studying law and practicing as a partner with Burr & Forman, LLP, Nancy now serves as associate general counsel for Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC. From Here On IN, Nancy’s helping the NAS build bridges with an alumni network of 150,000. Nancy makes UAB proud every day—just like all of our alumni.

Josh Nichols is IN! This father of four recently graduated from UAB in 2020 with his Master of Engineering in information engineering and management. Josh now works in Huntsville as an aerial photographer for the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center’s Aviation Flight Test Directorate.
