CaRES Summer 2021 Welcome, Orientation, Meet-and-Greet Session, Seminars, and Poster Session
In summer 2021, CaRES students are required to participate in these events. Please contact Program Director Dr. Peter Smith prsmith@uab.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
Welcome: CaRES Program Director Dr. John Waterbor (h2obor@uab.edu) will contact each student during his or her first week in CaRES, to say hello, answer questions, and offer guidance on any issues of concern. Contact will be by email, phone, or text message. CaRES students may reach out to Dr. Waterbor at any time by email, or by phone or text at 205-617-0293.
Orientation: there will be no formal orientation session. Please read and study the documents listed in the drop-down menu of the Orientation for New Interns tab on the CaRES website Cancer Research Experiences for Students (CaRES) (uab.edu) and contact Dr. Waterbor or Dr. Smith with your questions.
Please see the master schedule below. All sessions will be held via Zoom and all are on Thursday afternoons. Each week, please remind your preceptor that you are required to participate in the Thursday afternoon sessions. Instructions for participating via Zoom will be sent to you later.
