The Deep South Center for OH&S is an approved provider of continuing education units for nurses by the AL Board of Nursing (Provider ABNP0420 Expiration Date 12/16/2026) and has awarded this program 3.6 ABN, 3.0 SW, .3 CEU’s.

The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators has reviewed and approved the seminar entitled “Mini Infection Prevention Bootcamp for North Alabama Regional Long-Term Care Facilities in Jefferson County” for 3.5 hours of continuing education credit for licensed nursing home administrators in the State of Alabama.

Cost: Free, but seating is limited and registration is required. Seats are available on a first come first serve basis.

Course Purpose: The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare professionals in LTCFs with the knowledge and tools to run a competent and inclusive infection control program within their facility. The attendees will learn about infection prevention practices and recommendations for laundry, medication passing and carts, and UTI prevention.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe the role of Infection Prevention and Control in Long-Term Care settings 
  • Learn best infection prevention practices for laundry care in long-term care settings
  • Learn best infection prevention practices for medication carts in long-term care settings
  • Understand how to prevent UTI’s in Long-Term Care settings
