The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators has reviewed and approved the seminar entitled “Mini Infection Prevention Bootcamp for Baldwin County” for 3 hours of continuing education credit for licensed nursing home administrators in the State of Alabama.

The Alabama Board of Examiners of Assisted Living Administrators has approved this program for CEUs.

Cost: Free, but seating is limited and registration is required. Seats are available on a first come first serve basis.

Course Purpose: The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare professionals in LTCFs with the knowledge and tools to run a competent and inclusive infection control program within their facility. The attendees will learn about detection, testing, and reporting, infection prevention practices and, medication passing and carts.

Course Objectives:

  • Describe the role of Infection Prevention and Control in Long-Term Care settings. 
  • Verbalize who should report, how to report, & when to report Reportable Diseases and conditions.
  • Learn best Infection Prevention practices for medication carts in long-term care settings.
  • Describe the role of Infection Prevention and Control in Long-Term Care settings.
  • Identify the functions and responsibilities of the nurse/medication tech during medication pass as related to infection control procedures.
  • Describe strategies for assessing the adherence to infection control procedures during medication administration.
