  • Nine weeks of tropical medicine training at the prestigious Gorgas Institute in Peru
  • Four weeks of Spanish Immersion course in Managua, Nicaragua 
  • Six weeks of inpatient medicine rotation in Africa (Zambia)
  • Two weeks at Harvard Humanitarian Course to learn about Refugee Health
  • Procedure training with opportunity to become a procedural attending
  • Clinics: Wound Care, TB, and Travel Clinic
  • Ultrasound training
  • Opportunity to start a Masters program

Year 2 (optional)

  • Six weeks of inpatient medicine rotation in Asia (Pune and Vellore, India)
  • Six weeks of tropical medicine rotation in Australia
  • Four weeks of inpatient medicine/Infectious disease rotation in Panama
  • Tropical Medicine Dermatology rotation in Dominican Republic
  • Procedure and Ultrasound training
  • Global Health Conference of choice (including European conferences)
  • ASTMH Conference

Requirements for Fellowship Completion

  • Completion of Gorgas course
  • Completion of International rotations
  • Completion of all assigned hospitalist shifts (106 per year)
  • Attendance to TB, travel and immigrant health clinics (24 total)
  • Attendance to bimonthly academic days/journal clubs (unless fellow is abroad without internet access)
  • Fellows Final Global Health Grand Round Presentation
