Melanie Aldridge graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2023. She joined Dr. Lalita Samant’s laboratory through her appointment in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s PREP Scholars Program, and aspires to transition into a Biomedical Sciences PhD program in the Cancer Biology theme for 2024. Her current research in the lab focuses on investigating the role of the Merlin protein in the tumor microenvironment of breast cancer. During her free time, Melanie enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
