Heba M. Alsheikh, MD, MSc is originally from Alexandria, Egypt. She graduated from Alexandria medical school in 2010. Right after graduation, she started her master’s in clinical oncology and nuclear medicine along with a residency in clinical oncology which she finished in 2015. Following her passion for cancer research, she joined UAB in 2016 and worked in the area of brain tumors and metastasis. She joined Dr Lalita’s lab in 2018, and since then her research focus of interests are signaling in DNA radiation damage repair. Tumor immune-microenvironment & the effect of diabetes on mammary tumors metabolic and immune milieu. In addition to outdoor activities and fun with family and friends, Heba loves restoration projects, cooking, and planting.
