Anita Clemon is IN! This former NAS President now serves as assistant vice president for Institutional Equity. Anita works every day to make our alma mater more accessible to all. Steve Mitchell is IN! This Blazer All-American’s jersey is retired in the rafters of Bartow Arena, and now he has a home in your new National Alumni Society as well. Steve uses the lessons he learned from Coach Gene Bartow as a student at UAB and passes that wisdom on to today’s youth as the athletic director at Altamont. As Blazers, we’ve always been proud of Steve – now we’re proud to have him as a part of our Alumni family, 150,000 strong.
The Craigs are IN—with seven degrees from UAB between them! Skip, Mark, Jennifer, and Emily take the meaning of UAB Family to an entirely different level. Skip earned his M.B.A. from UAB in 1990, and his son, Mark, earned a B.S. in Business in 2005 (while serving as president of Gang Green) and an M.B.A. in 2012. Emily earned her B.S. in Education in 2011 and an M.P.A. from UAB in 2015. Mark’s wife, Jennifer, earned her B.S. from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2009 and became the first Doctor Craig when she earner her O.D. from the School of Optometry in 2013. No matter the school, the degree, or the year, as alumni of UAB, the Craigs are all automatically enrolled in the NAS at no cost—no family discount needed. The same goes for you!
