Stephanie Daniels Smoke has dedicated her time and efforts to helping others. she worked full-time while attending and completing her undergraduate and post graduate studies. She received her degrees from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), obtaining a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Mass Communication; She received a Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law, and a Master of Laws with Distinction (Honors) from Thomas Jefferson School of law in San Diego, California. She made history when she was elected to serve as the first female ever to sit on the Elmore County Commission. Most notable and during her tenure, she quickly rose to serve as Vice-Chairman and was often referred to as a “trailblazer.” She was the first African American female to serve as Assistant District Attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit of Alabama covering Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry and Wilcox counties. While in private practice, she focused primarily on domestic relations, probate and estate, personal injury, wrongful death, business formations, bankruptcy, and criminal and civil litigation. She served part-time as the City Prosecutor in Hale County, Alabama and as a Drug Court Attorney for Community Correction in the black belt areas of Alabama. Stephanie Daniels Smoke practice law 17 years prior to receiving a lifetime appointment as United States Federal Judge. She is the author of the book entitled, You Will Die One Day, Is your house in order? A guide to cracking the code on establishing generational wealth.
