Training Opportunities
The Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at UAB provides training at many levels, including:
- Faculty-taught undergraduate and graduate courses at UAB
- Pre-service clinical training (e.g., LEND interdisciplinary training program, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics rotation for medical students and residents, graduate practicum placements, shadowing experiences for high school and undergraduate students)
- In-service training for practicing professionals (e.g., Project ECHO Autism, LEND fellowships, tele-mentoring for screening and diagnosis in Early Intervention and Children’s
- Rehabilitation Services, observation and individual training plans for practicing professionals)
- Community presentations (e.g., caregiver groups, RAN Community Education Workshops, civic organizations, schools)
- Continuing education events (e.g., Simpson-Ramsey Neurodevelopment Symposium, Alabama Autism Conference, webinars)
- Advocacy training (e.g., PIPA)
