Regional Autism Network at UAB

The Regional Autism Network (RAN) was established by legislative action under the direction of the Alabama Interagency Autism Coordinating Council (AIACC). RAN consists of 5 University-based programs located at UAB, Auburn University, the University of South Alabama, the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) and the University of Alabama. The RAN is charged with the task of providing resources and training for persons of all ages in the state of Alabama who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. The charges of the UAB RAN align with the goals of the LEND and UCEDD programs. The UAB RAN is staffed by a Director, Family Navigator, and program and student assistants to meet the needs of the community by drawing on the expertise available at the CEDD, Civitan-Sparks Clinics, and across the UAB campus and surrounding community.

UAB RAN Strives to

  • Listen to families to understand their unique situations and needs
  • Create bridges and connections between families and providers
