Elizabeth Beierle, M.D.
Dr. Beierle’s research focus involves a variety of pediatric solid tumors including hepatoblastoma, neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, medulloblastoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma. Her lab focuses on the study of cell signal transduction pathways and the investigation of novel therapeutics.
Raoud Marayati, M.D.
Raoud’s research focuses on hepatoblastoma and the signaling pathways that promote tumorigenesis and metastasis. In particular, she is investigating the role of PIM3 kinase in promoting tumor metastasis and cell survival as well as the mechanism by which PIM3 exerts its effects. She also studies the phenomenon of cisplatin chemoresistance which remains a significant challenge in the treatment of hepatoblastoma.
Additionally, she studies the effects of the immunomodulator FTY720 on medulloblastoma stem cell-like cancer cells in vitro and in vivo in a murine model.
Colin Quinn
Colin’s research involves combining both established and novel therapeutics with oncolytic herpes simplex virus in order to improve their efficacy against neuroblastoma. Currently, his focus is on the investigation of ALK inhibitors combined with oHSV. He also investigates the genetic profiles of pediatric patient-derived xenograft tumors for future therapeutic approaches.
