Michael Dow is IN! Michael Stephen Dow is married to Perla in Arizona and has 3 kids. Michael was on a path to attend medical school and then the events of September 11, 2001 occurred. Michael became angry at the terrorists and decided to join the US Air Force. He went through Officer Training School and then graduated specialized Navigator training to become an Electronic Warfare Officer. Michael deployed 6 times for the Global War on Terror between 2005 and 2009 with the EC-130H Compass Call mission. Michael medically retired in 2010 and then became an US Army contractor serving Wounded Warriors and ensuring they received all of their entitled benefits for 8 years. Michael always had a love for science and the human body so he then used his GI bill to go through nursing school and graduated in August 2020. Michael now works as a Registered Nurse at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Michael’s education is as follows: B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University in 1999, B.S. in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001, M.S. in Management from Troy University in 2010, Masters in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2017, and M.S. from the University of Arizona in 2020 through its 15 month accelerated Masters Entry to the Profession of Nursing program. Michael is the Founder and Manager of Dow Creative Enterprises, LLC. His books have garnered the Silver Nautilus Book award in 2020 (Nurse Florence, Help I’m Bleeding) and an Award-Winning Finalist in the Religion category for the 2021 International Book Awards (A Prayer to Our Father in the Heavens: Possibly the Greatest Jewish Prayer of All Time). Michael believes we will need the best of science and religion to successfully navigate ourselves, our civilization, through the future obstacles we will face. Camille Quinn is IN! Dr. Camille R. Quinn, PhD, AM, LCSW, LISW-S, LMSW, is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan. Dr. Quinn is a 1992 graduate of the UAB College of Arts and Sciences. She is a health criminologist scholar who uses mixed methods to investigate the health and mental health equity of Black/African American girls and young women with legal system-involvement to culturally tailor effective interventions to reduce their mental health burden and promote crime desistance. Dr. Quinn is a Principal Investigator (PI) for two National Institute of Health funded studies (R21 and Loan Repayment Program—LRP renewal award) investigating legal system-involved Black girls’ and their caregivers’ stress and protective factors. She is also the PI of a MacArthur Foundation Safety and Justice Challenge grant to increase criminal justice reform. Her newest project includes a modified mixed methods study of African girls residing in Michigan to assess their vulnerability to arrest. Dr. Quinn is a NIH LRP Ambassador and a Senior Scholar with the Center on Gender Justice & Opportunity at Georgetown University. She is a Society for Social Work Research Fellow, a 2023 Milestone Awardee from the University of Chicago Crown School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice (AM ’98) and a 2024 Innovation in Research and Teaching Awardee from the University of Michigan School of Social Work.

Karen King serves as the Program Manager for the UAB Health System Office of Employee Access and Workforce Development, where she plays a pivotal role in driving initiatives that foster inclusion and professional growth. A proud Selma, Alabama native, Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from UAB and later pursued her MBA with a focus on Management from Northcentral University. With over 15 years of progressive experience in administrative leadership, she has honed her expertise in creating impactful solutions and supporting organizational success. Residing in McCalla with her husband, Karen finds joy in exploring new culinary creations, writing, and embarking on travel adventures that inspire her both personally and professionally.

Peyton Perry

Peyton Perry is IN! Peyton is a current JD/MBA candidate at Emory University School of Law and Goizueta Business School. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in political science Magna Cum Laude from UAB with High Distinguished Honors in Global and Community Leadership and earned his MPH from the School of Public Health, graduating with both in 2022. While at UAB, Peyton served as a Resident Assistant for three years and as an Undergraduate Orientation Leader during the COVID-19 pandemic. Peyton will be working at a mid-size law firm (~80 attorneys) in Chattanooga, TN after graduation, and will be practicing in the fields of health law and general corporate matters.
