SEDOH-88

Our team worked to develop a comprehensive socioecological determinants of health assessment tool (SEDOH-88) to foster a better understanding of how socioecological factors impact such disparities in surgery. Our survey utilized a modified Delphi process to develop a comprehensive tool that included 31 socioecological determinates of health that includes 88 questions. The survey and scoring instrument can be located within the tabs below.
You can read more about the SEDOH-88 via PubMed.

How to score the SEDOH-88

This survey’s utilization is intended for data collection. Generally, higher scores tend to correlate with a patient’s higher risk, concern, or overall negative outcomes. The survey’s scoring system is to be used as directed or adjusted based on the Delphi’s selection of questions from the Survey instrument. This can be viewed by viewing the PRAPARE adaptation tab. This scoring method is included for convenience and ease of interpretation of survey results, and this composite scoring method has not been validated for research purposes at this time.
