The CBrA lab had the exciting opportunity to be a part of Jasper, AL’s first ever Autism Awareness Walk this past Saturday (April 26)! The walk was organized locally by community members who wanted to share resources and build relationships between families, educators, and other care providers. Program coordinator Paula Argueta is herself a Jasper local and had the chance to set up a table at the walk to share information about our lab’s research to those who might benefit!
The CBrA lab was very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Walk for Autism in Montgomery this Saturday (April 26), hosted by Autism Support of Alabama! Program coordinator Luke Martin set up a table at the walk and had the chance to speak with many families, educators, and care providers about our research. We look forward to next year’s walks!
The CBrA Lab was very excited to be invited to tour the renewed UAB driving simulator facility. Dr. Avinash Unnikrishnan, current chair of the Department of Civil Construction, and Environmental Engineering, has been given oversight of the simulator facility, which was previously managed by the Department of Psychology. Now that it’s up and running again, we are very enthusiastic about the potential for collaborative research across departments at UAB.
We were so excited to attend the “Unlocking the Mystery of Developmental Disorders” conference last Friday (Nov 15) in Vestavia Hills, AL! Program Coordinator Lucas Martin represented the CBrA lab at our exhibitor’s booth to tell other researchers, clinicians, educators, and interested families all about the BrainREAD study.
