First-time freshmen, welcome home. Gold Hall’s doors are always open.

Gold Residence Hall is an exclusive living-learning experience reserved for Blazers brand new to their post-secondary journey. An eight-story tower and a four-story wing define the floorplan of Gold Hall’s 217,000 square feet. Common areas and multi-use study spaces flow seamlessly into student housing access. UAB is committed to making the transition for first-time students as comfortable as possible, so convenience comes standard in every residential unit. En-suite baths, in-room kitchenettes, and, of course, Wi-Fi, ethernet, and cable TV connectivity mean you can tackle coursework and then kick back without leaving your room. All that on top of 24/7 staffing, on-site laundry and printing facilities, and a tangible sense of community make for an unprecedented first-year experience at Gold Residence Hall.

Your own corner of campus that caters to your convenience.
