Eddie won the top poster presentation in the senior trainee category at the 2023 Vaccine Lecture and Symposium. The event was held at the UAB Alys Stephens Center on October 11, 2023.
Due to the pandemic, the AMC21 scholars welcome party was postponed since 2020; this year, we’re glad to welcome our 2020-2022 scholars and held a reception for all the scholars and mentors on Sept. 26, 2022.

Several UAB labs will collaborate with biopharmaceutical company Altimmune, Inc. to explore the immune response of an intranasal COVID-19 vaccine candidate. This data, gathered from six UAB labs in the Department of Microbiology, Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, and the Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, proceeds progression of the candidate into a Phase I clinical trial.
