Dr. Ren from the UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center and Department of Surgery and Dr. Chandrani Sarkar from the Mitchell Cancer Institute, University of South Alabama have been selected as the new member of Medical Advisory Council in the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama to support cutting-edge breast cancer research initiatives across the state of Alabama.

REN LAB has been awarded the Transformational Project Award from the American Heart Association to study arteriolar angiogenesis in Alzheimer’s disease.

Pilot Project in Arteriolar Angiogenesis and Cancer Cell Stemness. This internal grant awarded by the UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center through Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama will be used to collect preliminary data to support the premise that the growth of small blood vessels (arterioles) in tumors contributes to the spread of cancer cells to other organs.
