Briana Machen

I am a Fyffe, Alabama native and graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. I have been a technician in Dr. Wang’s lab since April of 2019. In the lab I work on a project targeting the recruitment of the PTEN protein to rescue the effects of Autism Spectrum Disorders. I focus mostly on behavior testing, protein isolation, and stereotaxic surgeries. Outside of the lab I enjoy movies, puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. In fall of 2021 I will be starting as a PhD student in the Biomedical Sciences Program as part of the Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics theme.
