Payami lab, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), is also the hub for collaborative branches of the NeuroGenetic Research Consortium (NGRC), and an Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) project on gut-brain connection.

Within UAB, the lab is affiliated with Department of NeurologyDepartment of Genetics, Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics (CNET), UAB-Hudson Alpha Center for Genomic Medicine, and the UAB Microbiome Center.

Payami lab is a member of the ASAP Collaborative Research Network.  ASAP is a large international initiative fostering collaboration and resources to better understand the underlying causes of Parkinson’s disease (https://www.michaeljfox.org/asap). Payami lab was among 14 teams from 10 countries that were selected to explore circuitry and brain-body interactions.
