Postdoctoral position in computational metagenomics
- Three-year, fully funded, full time position. Remote work.
- Project is about the role of the gut metagenome and its relationship with human genome and environmental toxicants in the development and progression of Parkinson’s disease (PD). The postdoc will be involved in the analysis of shotgun metagenome sequences, along with genome-wide genotypes and clinical and exposure metadata that have already been collected on 1,000 individuals with PD and 600 neurologically healthy individuals.
- The position is in the lab of Dr. Haydeh Payami at UAB. Payami lab is a member of a large research collaborative team, providing the postdoc excellent opportunities to network and collaborate with other research groups internationally.
Qualifications:
- Requirements: Ph.D. with minimum 3 years experience in the analysis of large human datasets using bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and/or metagenomic tools.
