Recently, the article “Development and Validation of an Updated Internalized HIV Stigma Scale among People Living with HIV”, which was led by a multidisciplinary team including Dr. Bulent Turan, a prominent psychologist and researcher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was accepted in AIDS and Behavior. The publication presents a rigorously developed and validated tool to measure internalized HIV stigma, a critical barrier to care and well-being among people living with HIV. This updated scale reflects contemporary experiences and diverse populations, enhancing its relevance for both research and clinical practice. Dr. Turan is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and a Scientist at the UAB Center for AIDS Research. His work focuses on the psychological and social dimensions of HIV-related stigma and their impact on health outcomes, particularly in underserved communities. Join us in wishing his team a big “CONGRATULATIONS“!!!!!
