In addition to performing diagnostic testing for patient care, the UAB Diagnostic Mycoplasma Laboratory serves as a testing center for industry and government sponsored in vitro and clinical studies involving the diagnosis and treatment of mycoplasma and ureaplasma infections in children and adults. Persons or organizations interested in having our laboratory perform culture, antibiotic susceptibility, and PCR-based studies for investigational purposes should contact the Medical Director, Ken B.
