Biography
Hello, my name is Kaycee Hair! I am a Clinical Research Coordinator for Dr. Chu’s lab here at UAB. I have the privilege of working with our dedicated team and contributing to a variety of research projects within the lab. It is a genuine pleasure and honor to work very closely with our amazing research team over the years. Many of my professional goals began taking flight through working with Dr. Chu and our incredible team. I was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, and later moved to Birmingham to get to know the Magic City. I graduated from Auburn University in 2019 where I received my bachelor’s in Psychology. I then graduated with my master’s from UAB in 2023 with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For the Department of Surgery at UAB, I gratefully serve as the Wellness Champion, where I support workplace wellness initiatives that support faculty and staff. In my free time, you can typically find me bullet journaling, paddle boarding, hiking, tending to my many house plants, playing the bass (very poorly), and experimenting with new recipes for loved ones. - Pink Steak – West Palm Beach, FL ($$$)
- Not only is the food amazing, the ambiance is perfect! My dad designed this place so I might be biased but the food definitely speaks for itself!
- Okiboru – Atlanta, GA ($$)
- The best ramen and tsukemen I have found in the US – this affordable, Michelin rated, ramen shop is always worth a day trip to ATL.
- Howley’s Diner – West Palm Beach, FL ($$)
- “Cooked in Sight, Must be Right” is their slogan and it continues to be true! My go to order is the fish of the day (spoiler alert, it is always Mahi Mahi), a rootbeer float, and chocolate thunder cake.
- Blue Pacific – Birmingham, AL ($)
- Don’t let the place fool you, it is a restaurant and not a gas station… always ask for their green chili sauce, and thank me later!
- Automatic Seafood – Birmingham, AL ($$$)
- You truly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu so why not enjoy it family style!
