What we are doing:

Surveying patients undergoing coloscopies or surgery for colorectal disease to better understand how social determinants of health (things related to where people work and live) impact surgical care and health.

Who can participate:

Anyone 18 and older who has undergone (or is scheduled to have) a coloscopy or colorectal surgery for diverticulitis, colorectal cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis).

How to participate:

One time 30 – 45 minute survey (over the phone or in person) about aspects of community, family, and place where you live. Participants completing the survey will also be asked to release medical records related to recent surgery or procedure. Participants completing the surgery will be compensated for their time and effort.
