Biography
My name is Bayley Jones, and I am very excited to be joining Dr. Chu’s lab for my two years of academic development time! I am originally from Mobile, Alabama, and I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Spanish. I spent a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain, before starting medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. I matched into General Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, where I just completed my third year of clinical training. I am very excited to be coming back to UAB to work with Dr. Chu and his team for my dedicated research time. My research will focus on the role of health literacy in enhanced recovery programs. When I am not in the hospital, I’m almost always with my dog, Blu. We enjoy hiking, brewery hopping, and traveling!
