Artificial Intelligence in Radiology Education (AIRE) Course Overview

AIRE is a radiology education program designed to introduce trainees to the applications of artificial intelligence in radiology. AIRE’s course reaches hundreds of radiology trainees across the United States and internationally through live and recorded lectures. For the majority of attendees, it will be their first exposure to AI in radiology. The course is divided into 8-10 lectures over one week, covering topics on fundamental terms and methods of AI, highlighting applications of AI by radiology subspecialty, and special topics lectures, including economics, ethics, bias, and implementation.

AIRE Course Curriculum

The course is designed to be delivered on a 2-year rotating cycle, highlighting each of the major subspecialties of Diagnostic Radiology and relevant Special Topics lectures. For example, if Neuroradiology, Abdominal Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, and Breast Imaging are covered in one cycle, then the next cycle will consist of the other topics. This approach provides students with a well-rounded understanding of the entire field of Diagnostic Radiology and the growing use of Artificial Intelligence in it.
