Sorace Research Lab

Anna Sorace, Ph.D

The Sorace Lab’s broad research interests include improving cancer patient care through translational advancements in cancer imaging. Specifically, the lab is investigating imaging biomarkers for early response to neoadjuvant and adjuvant cancer treatment and utilizing quantitative imaging to guide and improve drug delivery of current therapies in cancer. Dr. Sorace has expertise in multimodality, non-invasive quantitative imaging to improve detection, monitoring and therapy of cancer in both preclinical animal models and clinical cancer research.

Dr. Sorace completed her undergraduate training at Mississippi State University, where she earned a BS in Biological Engineering, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning a MS in Biomedical Engineering. She then earned her PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Biomedical Engineering, and received her Post-doc training at Vanderbilt University, Department of Radiology, Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science Engineering. Dr. Sorace joined UAB Department of Radiology in 2019 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering and serves as Director for the Small Animal Imaging Facility. Additionally, Dr. Sorace is an Associate Scientist, O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center.
