What are the latest quarantine guidelines?

For those who tested negative, isolation can end. However, if your symptoms persist or new symptoms arise, seek additional COVID-19 testing. For those who are COVID-19 positive, follow the guidelines below. Learn more on the CDC website or contact them by phone at 800-CDC-INFO.

If you’ve had no symptoms

  • Day 0 – The day you were tested (not the day you received your test result)
  • Day 1 – The first full day following the day you were tested
  • If you develop symptoms within 10 days of when you were tested, the clock restarts at day 0 on the day of symptom onset
  • Unless told otherwise by a doctor, isolate for at least 5 days.
  • Your symptoms are improving, you can end isolation after day 5.

If you have symptoms

  • Day 0 – The day you were tested (not the day you received your test result)
  • Day 1 – The first full day following the day you were tested
  • Unless told otherwise by a doctor, isolate for at least 5 days if your symptoms are improving.
  • If symptoms persist, continue isolation until you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).
