Short Bio:
Piyasuda Pukkanasut received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkok, Thailand. She moved to the United State in 2017 and obtained a Master of Science in Biotechnology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2018. Piyasuda is currently a PhD candidate in medicinal chemistry under supervision of Sadanandan Velu Ph.D. from chemistry department and Renata Jaskula-Sztul, Ph.D. from surgery department. Piyasuda has been working on multiple drug-discovery projects with a primary research interest in targeting voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) for the treatment of medullary thyroid cancer.
