About: Alex Hayes is an AmeriCorps VISTA as well as a senior studying both Neuroscience and Medical Sociology at UAB, set to graduate in Spring 2024. Alex serves as the President of UAB Best Buddies, the Vice President of the Undergraduate Neuroscience Society, a UAB Trailblazer, a tutor for STAIR of Birmingham, a Student Alumni Society Representative (now called Future Blazer Alumni), and an active member of the Disability Health Coalition. He previously served as the Vice President of the Student Alumni Society, Mr. UAB Top 10 Finalist and Mr. UAB 1st Alternate, an Orientation Leader, and a Race21 Scholar. He was also recognized as a chem scholar after being awarded the Outstanding General Chemistry Award his freshman year for being in the top 2% of general chemistry students.
Fun Fact: Alex shares: “The first time in an airplane was the time I went skydiving!”
