The Van Meir lab recently hosted an end-of-summer team social at Dr. Ryan Miller’s lake house.

On Sept. 3, 2023, Postdoc Dr. Taka Yamamoto left the Van Meir Lab to return to Japan, so we hosted farewell lunch at Taco Mama.

Alex, Rashed, and Jesse presented their research at the 2^nd Southeastern Brain Tumor Research Meeting (SBTRM) hosted at UAB on May 18^th, 2023.

Dr. Van Meir and his lab members beat the clock at Birmingham’s Breakout Escape Room. Afterwards, they celebrated lab achievements and a new lab member with a nice dinner.

On January 19, 2023, Dr. Erwin Van Meir was honored as the inaugural David Hart White Endowed Professor and expressed his thanks to the O’Neal and White families for their continued support of the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center and his professorship appointment.

On April 25, 2023, the UAB Heersink School of Medicine and Department of Neurosurgery celebrated Dr. Erwin Van Meir’s appointment to the David Hart White Endowed Professorship at the Endowed Chairs and Professorships Reception.
