Audiometric Refresher Course held over Zoom
Course Overview:
The program’s objective is to teach participants to become an active part of an Occupational Hearing Conservation Program (HCP). Through extensive lectures, workshops and exercises and supervised practicum on related areas of a hearing conservation program, a basic understanding of comprehensive HCP and audiometric testing is achieved. CAOHC certification/re-certification will be granted upon successful completion of the appropriate course requirements and the passing of the CAOHC standardized written examination.”
Ample time will be allowed to master basic testing techniques on the audiometer.

Course Information:
Day 2- Day 4 – 8:30am- 12pm (You have the option to sit in on the initial course –Day 1.
Day 5 (Exam Day)- You will be assigned either a morning or afternoon session to take your exam. Session 1: 8:30am-12pm or Session 2: 1pm-5pm. All times are CST.
***You must use a laptop with a working camera, internet, browser-Firefox, or Google to take the Zoom course and online CAOHC online exam.
All course materials will be shipped to the address entered on your registration page (home address preferred-no PO Boxes). You will be asked to provide an email address that you can access on exam day and where all email communications will be sent.
A week prior to the course, you will receive a ZOOM invite for a course pre-connectivity
Meeting where your course director will go over some pertinent Information and
troubleshoot any Zoom, audio, or video issues you may have.

Registration is limited for each class, so early registration is recommended. Tuition for the Audiometric Refresher Course is $550.00, which includes all course materials and CAOHC exam testing fee.

ABN contact hours and CEU’s:
The Deep South Center for Occupational Health & Safety is an approved provider of continuing education units for nurses by the Alabama Board of Nursing (Provider #ABNP0420, expires 12/21/2026) and has awarded 9.6 ABN contact hours and .8 CEUs for refresher course participants.
Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be issued for registration cancellations less than two weeks before the course.
