Unpacking Insurance Coverage for Fertility Preservation (IRB-300013335)
This study evaluates process of insurance coverage for sperm banking (SB), which is recommended for all post-pubertal males newly diagnosed with cancer. Most insurance carriers do not cover sperm banking, but some states have mandates that include limited coverage for sperm banking.
Who is eligible?
- Patients aged 15–24y with male reproductive organs and a new cancer diagnosis
- Planned treatment includes any chemotherapy and/or testicular radiation
- Have insurance (any insurance)

Triptorelin and Protection of Ovarian Reserve in Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer (ALTE2131 | NCT06513962; IRB-300014507)
This cross-network NCI trial randomizes females at a high risk of premature ovarian insufficiency to receive the GnRH agonist triptorelin and follows measures of ovarian reserve for 2y after completing cancer therapy.
Who is eligible?
- Females aged <40y newly diagnosed with cancer (excluding breast cancer)
- Must have had first period >6 months prior
- Planned treatment includes an alkylating agent that contribute to CED, e.g., cyclophosphamide, ifosfamide, procarbazine, chlorambucil, BCNU, CCNU, melphalan, thiotepa, busulfan, nitrogen mustard. Dose for <20y: CED ≥4g/m2 and for ≥20y: any alkylator dose.

PRISM-ES (IRB-300010134)
The Promoting Resilience in Stress Management (PRISM) intervention is an age-appropriate program designed to improve mental health in AYAs with cancer through skills-based coaching sessions and a supporting digital app.
Who is eligible?
- Patients of all genders ≥12 y and ≤25y at baseline
- Can read and speak English or Spanish
- Have completed main cancer-directed therapy [patients receiving oral maintenance chemotherapy (e.g., AYAs with ALL) also eligible].
