Research Opportunities:
PhD student opening
Undergraduate opening
Research at the Sorace Lab:
The goal of our lab is to develop quantitative imaging biomarkers in oncology to help predict response and improve therapeutic strategies in cancer. We enjoy understanding the temporal relationship of tumor progression, the tumor microenvironment and response to combination therapies and applying underlying biomedical engineering approaches to improve treatment strategies.
What methods/tools do we use:
• Animal models of oncology. We can induce tumors in mice and study disease progression and test new treatments.
• Clinical imaging devices such as MRI, PET, optical imaging, and ultrasound to quantify in vivo changes in the tumor microenvironment
• Quantifying tumor heterogeneity through in vivo and ex vivo experiments
• Development of image analysis tools to quantify changes in tumor biology
• In vitro live cell imaging and high-resolution histology
• In vitro tissue culturing
About you:
You should have the ability to work in a team and be highly motivated to pursue interdisciplinary research between biomedical imaging, computational analysis and cancer biology.
We have two openings for undergraduate researchers.
