The Yoder Lab at UAB is looking for a highly motivated postdoc interested in applying innovative intravital imaging approaches to understand how cilia defects contribute to cystic kidney disease. This NIH-funded position provides the opportunity to study the function of cilia in the kidney through in vivo imaging approaches incorporating a variety of mouse models and bioreporter systems. The lab is well equipped with multiple microscopes and imaging systems and uses the latest techniques to address biological questions related to cilia formation and function across different tissues. The selected candidate will analyze changes in cilia morphology, determine whether there are changes in signaling and transcriptional activity associated with cilia responses to flow, injury, and subsequent repair.
Qualifications: A PhD or equivalent degree is required. Highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a strong research background in microscopy, image analysis, molecular biology, tissue culture, cell biology and experience with rodent handling and husbandry are especially encouraged to apply.
