Research

Major projects in the laboratory include:

  • Determining how tumors suppress the immune response during chemotherapy
  • Understanding how reductions in macrophage antigen presentation permit tumor progression
  • Interrogating signaling downstream of Tyro3, Axl and Mer
  • Identifying which forms of cancer are most susceptible to TAM targeted therapeutics to increase the anti-tumor immune response
Tumor cells lacking Pros1 (BdP) show increased macrophage activation in genetic labeling models
Improving the innate immune response by targeting Pros1:Mer signaling leads to improve anti-tumor response by adaptive immune cells
Immunofluorescent staining of Tyro3/Axl/Mer ligands expressed by tumor cells
Transwell co-culture demonstrating the role of tumor-secreted Pros1 in suppression of the macrophage pro-inflammatory response
