NanoString GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler

The GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler is used to spatially resolve RNA (whole transcriptome) or proteins (up to 96) within multiple regions of interest on FFPE or FF tissue sections. A region of interest (ROI) can be defined by first staining the tissue sections with antibodies that identify various tissue compartments or cell types of interest. This allows in-depth NGS-based analysis of transcriptomic profiles in specific cell populations with morphological and spatial context

Scheduling a Consultation

  • Researchers interested in utilizing NanoString’s GeoMx™ Digital Spatial Profiler at UAB Spatial Core can email uabspatialcore@uabmc.edu
  • This will be followed by completing a REDCap Service Request form in which you will be asked some details about your project such as the project name, purpose, funding source & your availability for a Zoom meeting with Nanostring Spatial Core, UAB Biological Data Science Core, and UAB Spatial Core personnel.
  • In this Zoom meeting, we will review if the researcher is ready; we will discuss the number and type of samples, targets of interest (RNA/protein), morphology markers, region of interest (ROI) selection strategies, QC, workflow, timelines, and general overall costs. Please allow yourself enough time for planning before starting your project.
  • This will again be followed by completing a REDCap Project Details form in which you will provide the account number to charge and sign the service agreement.
  • Once the data analysis is complete & payment is made, the researcher will receive an email with the instructions to access their data.

Cost of Service

UAB Spatial Core will charge $175 per hour of service rendered. This will include Zoom meetings or in-person meetings and equipment usage.
