T32 NIGMS Translational and Molecular Sciences Training Program

There is an ever-increasing demand in the workplace for biomedical science graduates with training in translational research. A major challenge in such training is the need to incorporate multiple disciplines and concepts ranging from understanding disease mechanisms, understanding of how findings may be translated in academia or industry, to understanding regulatory oversight procedures and rules. The goals of the UAB Translational and Molecular Sciences (TMS) T32 training program is to help pre-doctoral trainees in the biomedical sciences to develop necessary skills and incorporate translational objectives into their research that will prepare them for the workforce of tomorrow. The program leverages institutional investments in translational science and expertise from >50 training faculty with broad research and disease areas of interest.
