Dr. Ragib Hasan is a tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. With a key focus on practical computer security problems, Dr. Hasan is the founder of the SECuRE and Trustworthy Computing Lab (SECRETLab) at UAB. He is also a member of the UAB Center for Information Assurance and Joint Forensics Research.

Hasan’s research interest falls in the general area of data security, with emphasis on trustworthy data history, provenance, and accountability for cloud computing, file systems, and databases. He is also interested in mobile malware, secure social networking, trustworthy location based services, and secure medical devices. Professor Hasan is the designer of one of the very first graduate level courses on cloud computing security and privacy (http://bit.ly/uabcloudsec), which he has taught at JHU and UAB over the last few years.
