April 25th, 2025: The UAB STARS Lab received the opportunity to tour the university’s new Multi-Disciplinary Driving Simulator Lab during a series of open house events. The lab features a full-size Honda Pilot SUV equipped with hydraulic controls that simulate real-world driving scenarios.
Funded by the UAB Strategic Investment Fund, the lab is open to researchers across campus and staffed with full-time personnel to support customized simulation programming.
The STARS Lab is excited to announce that we will be using the simulator in future studies to advance research on cognitive, motor, and behavioral development. We look forward to the new possibilities this technology brings!
