REVIVE TRIAL at UAB

Community Meetings

We need help from our community!

Bleeding out is the most common cause of preventable death after injury. Patients with severe bleeding inside the abdomen have a particularly high risk of dying. ResQFoam is a new investigational device, which aims to provide short-term control of abdominal bleeding, in the Emergency Department, before a surgeon can definitively stop the bleeding. This is first in human trial tested for the first time in patients and no prospective consent will be obtained due to the serious nature of the injury. We are participating in a study to see if ResQFoam, given soon after arrival in the emergency department, can improve survival.
