The aims of the Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) are to:

  • Deliver high-quality research training and tailored career development for faculty.
  • Mentor those committed to academic careers in health disparities and aging research.
  • Support innovative, high impact pilot projects.
  • Provide expertise and resources for community collaboration and recruitment of older Black/African American participants.
  • Actively integrate participants’ unique values and perspectives in analysis, and disseminate findings to scientific, professional, and lay audiences.

We have narrowed our approach to four key cores to guide our efforts in fulfilling these aims.
