Community Liaison & Recruitment Core

The Community Liaison and Recruitment Core aims to educate, train, and mentor scientists in engaging older African Americans in health research, support recruitment efforts, and build a sustainable infrastructure to advance recruitment and retention science.

Through the activities of the core, we aim to provide scientists with evidence-based recruitment tools for urban and rural older African Americans, boosting participation, community support, and sustainable dissemination pathways.

Core Aims

Collaborate with the Research Education Core (REC) to educate, train and mentor scientists in community engagement and assist in recruiting older African Americans to their research studies.

Advance scientific knowledge in the area of recruitment and retention of older urban and rural African Americans by testing recruitment and retention strategies developed in partnership with community members.

Expand capacity for community-academic partnerships to support the recruitment and retention of older urban and rural African Americans.

Disseminate research findings to the scientific community and the communities we serve.
