Mae Aida

I am a Huntsville, Alabama native and graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biotechnology. I have been Dr. Wang’s lab manager and technician since May of 2019. I work on a project aimed to elucidate tau toxicity within the locus coeruleus in Alzheimer ’s disease. My favorite activities within the lab include immunohistochemistry on brain slices, ELISA, and training new lab members. Outside of the lab I enjoy spending time with family and exploring Birmingham. I hope my time in Dr. Wang’s lab will have a positive impact on those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and will strengthen my scientific background for a successful future within the field of genetic research.
