Frequently Asked Questions About the Study
Will I have to stop my blood pressure medication during the study?
Our study requires that you stop your blood pressure medication for 7 days prior to completing the 24-hour at-home blood pressure monitoring. This allows our researchers to understand the natural rhythm of your blood pressure and determine your eligibility for the study. If eligible, you will be given 28 days of blood pressure medication to take (Entresto or Valsartan). Our team has qualified medical professionals on call for any questions or concerns during this period.
Where are the study visits located?
All of our study visits are done at UAB Hospital in the clinical research unit. All visits are done in person. There are two screening visits that last about one hour each. If you qualify for the study, you will be asked to participate in two overnight visits at the clinical research unit.
Can my overnight visits be done over the weekend?
Yes, the overnight visits can be scheduled on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday. The visit will begin at 7:00 am and end at 6:30 am the following day.
