Interests include solid organ transplant, innovative strategies involving advancements in immunosuppression, quality and safety within research and outcomes after transplant.

Biography

Leigh McManus, RN grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where she received her Bachelors in Nursing and Masters in Healthcare Quality and Safety. In 2006, she began her career in transplantation as a staff nurse on the kidney transplant unit a UAB hospital. After leaving bedside care, Ms. McManus worked in the role of Pre-transplant Coordinator and went on to spend several years working with executive leadership at the university in Patient Safety. As a manager in research, she works in all aspects of the clinical trial continuum from industry-sponsored studies to investigator-initiated research protocols.
