Our research is dedicated to finding treatments for rare genetic disorders. We are currently using a precision medicine approach to explore therapies that overcome the effects of nonsense mutations at the level of translation and mRNA stability to restore deficient protein, rather than trying to replace the missing gene or protein itself. This research involves multiple disciplines, including genetics, molecular genetics, cell biology, pathology, and biochemistry.
